  1. Microbes Concepts and Applications, a book published by Wiley-Blackwell, is an excellent source of basic information of microbial world and glimpses of all major application of microbial world to serve the mankind. Beginning with essentials of microbial classification and genetic engineering, the book covers almost all major areas where microbes played a significant role in human welfare.
More than anything else, the understanding of diseases helped to extend the life expectancy of each one of us. The detailed discussion of all classes of microbial infections and diagnosis of infectious agents using molecular diagnostic tools is covered in detail for graduate students and researchers. Updated information on microbial diversity and the use of microbes in agricultural practices for higher productivity and pest control is helpful to understand the contribution of microbes in this sector.
The role of microorganisms in industrial development is discussed from its beginning to the extensive application in modern industry.
The best part of the book is “future challenges” presented at the end of every chapter that opens up the avenues of likely developments in these areas of microbial world.
I recommend this book as a source of broad and most complete view of microbes for the students of every discipline, where study of microbes is involved.
