Prepub Alert, April 25, 2011

This issue of Prepub Alert wraps up October coverage, and, yes, the Christmas fiction is starting to surface: Donna VanLiere does her usual holiday work, and James Patterson joins the party. What’s most striking this time ’round is the nonfiction, from Susan Orlean’s Rin Tin Tin to Dava Sobel’s A More Perfect Heaven to Art Spiegelman’s MetaMaus, to name only the three picks I indulged in this time. Note also my next spook-fest, “What Else Is Hot? Mysteries, August Throught October 2011” and “Publisher’s Perspective: An Interview with Knopf VP Robin Desser on Kyung-sook Shin’s Please Look After Mom. An interview with Shin is forthcoming.
