Prepub Alert, February 28, 2011

With this column, Prepub Alert opens up coverage of September titles‚ a bit tricky, as most publishers are still finalizing their fall lists. (They’re also finalizing book jackets, so this is a very black-and-white column.) But no matter, there’s still plenty of stuff here, from Man Booker Prize winner Aravind Adiga’s Last Man in Tower and James Lee Burke’s Feast Day of Fools to Lynne Cox’s South with the Sun, a biography of polar explorer Roald Amundsen, and Paul Hendrickson’s Hemingway’s Boat: Everything He Loved in Life, and Lost, 1934‚ 1961. Both Amundsen and Hemingway are party to significant anniversaries this year, so one would expect them both to be subjects of other big books in the months to come. Not so far, but I’ll keep you posted.
