Douglas Brinkley’s Cronkite, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Chester Himes’s A Rage in Harlem, L. Ron Hubbard’s Trouble on His Wings, and Elton John’s Love Is the Cure are among the diverse range of 142 audiobooks contending for the 2013 Audie Awards® in 28 categories, which the Audio Publishers Association (APA) announced February 19.
“It is always an exciting revelation to see which titles have been nominated, especially as the number of titles produced in audio each year is growing so rapidly,” said APA President Michele Cobb when revealing the nominees. “Yet again, this year’s finalists do not disappoint. With an outstanding host, an amazing list of potential winners, and a gorgeous venue, we look forward to once again celebrating excellence in audio publishing.”
Winners will be announced at the 13th Annual Audies Gala on May 30 at the New York Historical Society in Manhattan. Writer Daniel Handler, a longtime APA friend and supporter of the audiobook industry, will emcee the event.
