Best Books 2012: Editor’s Letter

LJ‘s book review staff has been busy on your behalf. We recently sequestered ourselves for a day to have a polite discussion—yes, really—about the ten best books that came our way in 2012. You’ll have to hold on to your seat a bit longer though; that list will be winging its way to you in our December print issue and in our LJ Reviews enewsletter on December 20th. For hints on the riches to come, follow us on Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest.

In the meantime, our columnists have been doing some work of their own. Here are lists from our genre fiction contributors, who’ve sifted through the year’s offerings to present the top titles in their area.
