Audio News: Seeing Green, Tantor Discontinues Paper Catalogs

Tantor Audio has joined the green movement by terminating the production and mailing of paper catalogs to customers. The digital shift is well underway, Tantor’s Allan Hoving told LJ. Tantor2 Audio News: Seeing Green, Tantor Discontinues Paper CatalogsRecent surveys of our library customers and advisory board members indicate that by now most folks are comfortable getting info digitally, whether via email or by visiting our web site.

In addition to helping the environment, the audiobook publisher noted that production time is reduced dramatically, digital distribution is faster, information is more up-to-date, and less waste also means significant savings all around. Existing customers will receive electronic catalogs automatically as long as they are on Tantor’s email list. Their Tantor sales rep will be happy to sign them up, Hoving said.

Library and other customers will be apprised of new releases through a monthly PDF catalog announcement, a weekly HotList enewsletter, and in the New Releases section on Tantor’s website as well as its Facebook and Twitter pages.

Print on Demand
For those still preferring paper, Tantor will provide a printed catalog on-demand to any customers requesting it. We will also continue to create a printable PDF version each month, posting it to our website and sending out an email announcement with a link, said Hoving. New customers can receive ecatalogs by pasting their email address in the Exclusive Offers box on Tantor’s website, or by emailing service@tantor.com, or calling 877-7-TANTOR.
