The Burgeoning BEA Librarians' Lounge

More than three times the size of last year’s Librarians’ Lounge, the space at BEA in L.A. this year remains the chill haven with snacks and couches it’s been but also features more scheduled excitement than before. Librarians can drop off a business card to enter to win a Kindle and pick up (or drop off, or rearrange) galleys and books. Heather McCormack has also been taking an informal survey to find out the best tote bags up for grabs at this year’s show, and she may share her finds (I overheard Gibbs Smith has a good one blazing the phrase, "Will Work for Books"). Wilda Williams also showed up with a beach towel. Ten points for any readers who can remind me where it’s from!

Yesterday, Chelsea Cain signed and gave out her forthcoming novel, Sweetheart, in the lounge, and Sterling Publishing offered wine and  beer near the end of the show day. LJ editors, food, librarian cohorts, and giveaways will be here throughout the show, so stop on by to put faces with names.
