Comics fans, there’s a new sheriff in town and his name is Jon Favreau. Just got back from seeing Iron Man and it lived up to all my hopes. It really was a good as it looked and was fun, fun, fun from beginning to end. Grea
t cast, story is a bit obvious and it could have been trimmed there and there, but although there’s FX galore, it’s used to compliment the story instead of replace it. Well handled overall and as good a first in a series (the end very much sets up a sequel as does an extra scene after the credits—DONT LEAVE) as the original Spidey or X-Men. Way darker than those two films though. I’ll be seeing this again.
Hulk, Hulk
Before the film started, I was bombarded with numerous trailers including a new one for The Incredible Hulk. Frankly, which looked as crappy as the first one. Why is Hulk shiny? Unless the reviews are killer, I won’t be Hulking out. The Dark Knight trailer looked decent (hated the first film), and the extended Indy trailer kicked ass.
Free Comic Book Day
Tomorrow, May 3, is free comic book day. Take your kid to the local comics shop (or just go yourself) and get a handful of freebies complements of comics publishers. I hope that lots of libraries are participating in this. If not, contact you local comics dealer and establish some kind of partnership with them. Good for them, good for you, good for your patrons.
