I earlier discussed seeing Blade Runner The Final Cut, limited to theaters in Manhattan and L.A. much to the woe of many a Blade Runner head not living near either locale. Good news: the powers that be are extending its theatric release to other cities, so many more fans can have their shot at seeing it without having to travel half way across the country.. Here’s the current schedule, but more may be added so check back for additional listings on the film’s official site
And speaking of shots, in last week’s Art of Beowulf thread, I mentioned my interest in film props, so again for the diehard Blade Runner heads, here’s a little something for ya.
The liquor glasses that the boozy Deckard drinks from are quite distinctive. In the scene in his apartment after Rachel saves him from Leon, Deckard sips from a vintage shot glass with a colored band around it.
These were found objects, meaning they are common items acquired by the prop crew but not made specifically for the film. If you’re lucky, you can still find them for sale. Right is a very clear screen grab from the film showing Deckard sipping his booze from the banded glass.
And below is one of a bunch of the exact glasses I stumbled across in a Manhattan thrift shop. (Ok, so it’s nerdy as hell, but I think this stuff is cool.)

Cheers!
