Summer listening

I've been editing the audio reviews column for the last nine years, and I'm a judge for The Audies® awards competition  for the Audio Publishers Association. This summer I'll be listening to Good Morning America cohost Robin Roberts's From the Heart: Seven Rules To Live By, learning how she made it to the top. Other possibilities within earshot for your listening pleasure: neurosurgeon Sanjay Gupta's Chasing Life; former CIA director George Tenet’s At the Center of the Storm; hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons’s Do You: 12 Laws To Access the Power in You To Achieve Happiness and Success; Reporter Carl Bernstein’s A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton; Alex Haley’s Roots, available for the first time on audio; CBS roving correspondent Bill Geist’s Way Off the Road; veteran actress Victoria Rowell’s The Women Who Raised Me, about her rise out of the foster-care system; sports author Peter Golenbock’s 7: The Mickey Mantle novel, his first foray into fiction; and best-selling author Michael Chabon’s The Yiddish Policemen’s Union. Happy listening!
